Book Review

Verity Beaumont has suffered domineering men most of her life, first with her father and then with her husband. Free from both men, she has finally found peace. Even meeting a kind and hard-working gentleman who just might be the perfect father her young son so desperately needs. But as she dares look to the future, her carefully ordered world is shattered when her dead husband returns.

After six years away, Rufus Beaumont, Duke of Blackburn, returns to claim his place and protect his family. Only, the life he finds is not the life he left, and he must convince his wife that their marriage is worth fighting for, that he’s not the man he was. When the truth about what happened to him leaks out, he must prove that not everything about him, especially his love for her, is a lie.

Oh my this book was a joy to read, we definitely had drama and there is a twist one that I won't be revealing.  As always Ms Burke has worked her magic.  This book is a definite must read.

Now lets say in a hypothetical way, you are married to a man who is absolutely horrid, and then one day he goes to London and six and half years later he returns, with a different personality.  This is the dilemma that Verity is struggling with, and Verity so wishes that the man that left has returned a changed man, not just for her but for their son as well.

Before Rufus left, he was horrid to Verity, basically a bully.  But the Rufus that has returned, is so different, he is kind not just to Verity but too Beau their son as well and wants to get the estate running better and help the tenants.  Of course Verity is very wary, because the Rufus she knew had no interest in the estate.

I will definitely give this book 5/5 stars.  The book is on pre order at Amazon UK and is released on 29th May.

I received this ARC from the author, in return for a honest review.
